Q: I am already in a contract can I switch supplier before the end of the contract?
A: We would strongly advise against attempting to switch to a new supplier under such circumstances because the existing supplier may levy a sizeable penalty fee for early termination.

Q: What happens if there is a power cut or a gas leak?
A: Contact the appropriate distribution company listed on In Case of Emergencies.

Q: I have not submitted a termination notice to my supplier what choices do I have?
A: Very little, if the new contract has not yet started contact the supplier and they may be prepared to negotiate a reasonable tariff. To prevent this situation arising in the future please complete the form on Request Information.

Q: I am having problems with my current supplier, is BUSL able to help even though the contract was not placed through BUSL?
A: Yes, but we will charge for the service. For the future complete the form on Request Information and we will take care of issues that arise with your electricity and gas contracts after we have put the new contracts in place.

Q. Who is the supplier for the BUSL Group Deal?
A. British Gas Business (Corporate)
The choice of supplier for the BUSL Electricity Group Deal is on the basis of price and customer service and by going to the Corporate side it gives all clients access to terms and conditions that are normally only available to large businesses.

Q. When does the contract start?
A. As soon as possible!
The Group Deal is already up and running and therefore we will be working to transfer you to the BUSL Group Deal at the end of your current contract.

Q. When will the contract end?
A. 30th September 2008
Initially all clients will be contracted to 30 September 2008, but BUSL will look to negotiate an extension to this period when the market is favourable therefore securing you a lower price for a longer period

Q. What is the payment method for the BUSL Group Deal?
A. Direct Debit
British Gas Business will bill you directly each month and the payments shall be taken by Direct Debit based on your consumption.

Q. If I sign a Letter of Authority will you sign me up to the BUSL Group Deal?
A. Yes, but only if the BUSL Group Deal is cheaper than our benchmarks.
We compare the prices to other contracts in the market at the time and only if it is the cheapest option for you will we automatically accept the prices on your behalf.

Q. What benchmarks do you use to compare my prices to?
A. We compare the BUSL Group Deal prices to tariffs available to typical small and medium businesses on one year and two year contracts at the time. When we write to you we will tell which contracts have been used for making the comparison.

Q. What if the BUSL Group Deal is not the cheapest option for me?
A. We will contact you.
In the event the BUSL Group Deal prices are not cheaper than our benchmarks we will contact you and based on the figures involved we will offer advice but the decision will be yours. Should you wish to do so we can organise individual contracts and continue acting for you on an individual basis.
